At One Cow Farm our Angus and Angus / Hereford calves are fortunate enough to benefit from a diet of nutritious bluegrass in the heart of Central Kentucky. Calves are allowed to forage and graze on pasture their entire lives and will never see a feedlot. They are raised the way nature intended them to be raised, free from growth implants, steroids and hormones.

An eighth of a cow weighs around 50 pounds and the parts come from both the front and back half sub primal.
A quarter cow weighs around 100 pounds and the parts come from both the front and back half sub primal.
A half cow weighs around 200 pounds and the parts come from both the front and back half sub primal.

Here at One Cow Farm, we believe that consumers should take an active role in educating themselves about the source of their food. They should take advantage of the right to know where their food comes from, how it was raised, and how it was processed. Our farm guarantees that the beef each customer purchases comes from a single cow; hence our name.
When you purchase beef from One Cow Farm, you are buying an Angus or Angus cross with a live weight between 800 to 1,000 lbs. that has been naturally raised and finished on pasture grass, without exposure to hormones and steroids. Our Angus beef have higher levels of Omega 3 fatty acids, Vitamin E, Beta carotene, Linoleic acid, Vaccenic acid and antioxidants than their feedlot counterparts. Our beef also has increased levels of iron, zinc and B complex vitamins and have less saturated fat and cholesterol.

Dedication to raising our calves humanely influenced us to choose Marksbury Farm to handle the slaughtering and processing of our naturally raised Angus. Its owner and staff are committed to treating every animal that goes through their slaughterhouse humanely. It is a known fact that a stress-free environment during the slaughtering process is crucial in achieving very tender, high quality beef. Glycogen which is present in the muscle is depleted when a cow is stressed. Glycogen which is converted to lactic acid is necessary to produce the flavor, tenderness and color that quality beef should have.
Marksbury Farm employs a 14 day-dry-aging process that produces very flavorful tender beef.
We can deliver your order anywhere in central Kentucky including Lexington, Louisville and the surrounding areas. Shipping large quantities of beef is difficult and expensive so we mostly sell local. You are also welcome to pick up your order at our farm located in Harrodsburg, KY.
